Participants will dive into the Shared Reading block of the Bookworms curriculum through a dynamic and interactive experience. Together, we’ll explore this engaging block's structure, routines, and purpose. Through modeling and hands-on practice, participants will experience Shared Reading from the students’ perspective and leave with a deeper understanding of how to implement this block and spark student engagement.

Unpack key principles of the Science of Reading and examine how they align with the Bookworms K–5 curriculum. We’ll explore the progression of reading skills, from phonemic awareness and phonics to fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Participants will uncover how Bookworms supports this development through intentional, research-based instructional practices. Together, we’ll connect theory to practice, clarifying what effective reading instruction looks like in a Bookworms classroom.

In this session, participants will explore maximizing the impact of Bookworms Differentiated Instruction (DI). We’ll unpack the structure and purpose of DI lessons and examine practical ways to use Bookworms DI data to inform student groupings and guide instruction. Join us for an experience focused on increasing teacher efficiency and delivering targeted, meaningful instruction that drives student growth.
