Open Up Resources K–5 Math Centers are designed to engage students, support them in connecting conceptual and procedural understandings, and help build fluency. They can also be used to differentiate across grades and for intervention in middle school math classrooms. Join us to learn more about the structure and design of Centers, how to integrate them into units, tips for material prep and organization, and to play some games as students!

We’ll learn how to unpack a unit, backwards plan lessons, and utilize assessment opportunities in the Open Up Resources K–8 Math curriculum to respond to student thinking in real-time and guide our teaching. Leave with practical strategies and tools for planning, analyzing data, and enhancing learning for all students!
Join us for an engaging teacher reflection session designed to foster community and collaboration among educators as we review our teaching practices, celebrate successes, and set actionable goals for building classroom community throughout the school year. Participants will utilize a self-assessment rubric aimed at the key essentials of effective teaching. This tool will guide reflection on individual teaching practices and provide a framework for ongoing improvement.

Together, we will define translanguaging and learn how it differs from traditional language practices and beliefs. We’ll share and experience specific strategies for translanguaging that can be used across K–8 ELA and mathematics content, and with any curriculum, to support multilinguals and honor their native languages.
