True problem-based mathematics learning requires student conversation and engages students. How do we promote this engagement and discourse in secondary classrooms, particularly when learners may be used to more traditional, direct-taught math instruction? In this session, we’ll discuss and experience structures, strategies, and routines that help get middle and high school students talking and engaged.
