Cathy is a joyful educator with over 20 years of experience in elementary and middle school classrooms. Now serving as the Teacher Leader in Residence Lead for Math at Open Up Resources, she loves supporting educators and leaders through meaningful professional learning and coaching—always with a focus on student access, agency, and success. As a 6th grade math teacher in Illinois implementing Open Up 6–8 Math, Cathy was deeply transformed by the experience and that journey sparked the creation of her YouTube channel, The Math Reflective, where she shares honest reflections and joyful moments of math teaching and learning. Outside of work, she finds joy in traveling, cooking, walking, and playing pickleball.
